Jisan Historic House with a history of more than 150 years was designated as the Folklore Material No. 140 in Gyeongsangbuk-do in 2010.
The Hanok in the big yard with the grass displays an odor of antiquity with the sense of age. Moreover, many people visit here for its quiet rest area and various experience program.
You can see the yard surrounded by low fence when you enter Jisan Historic House.
In the flower beds, there are garden balsams, peonies, and common cosmoses and so on, and there is a special place on one side called Jangdokdae where many crocks is placed.
And when you go over to Sarangbang right over the yard, you can see the figure of "ㅁ" made by "ㄷ"-shaped main wing and "ㅡ"-shaped minor wing.
Sarangbang is normally located across from Anbang, but Jisan attached each room together to practice his conviction of not enlarging the house.
However, during the Joseon Dynasty, men and women strictly kept their distance from each other. Therefore, Jisan built Anbang as an invisible internal structure from Sarangbang.
Also, he didn’t make a tall gate or a shrine on purpose.
